Chichibu Fudasho No.16 Saiko-ji Temple
This is a Shingon Mikkyo Temple .
The main hall houses a number of Buddhist statues, including an eight-sided, eight-armed, yosegi-style statue of Sampo Kojin, centering on the thousand-armed Kannon.
To the right of the main hall is a corridor lined with carved images of the 88 sacred sites of Shikoku, and in front of the corridor is the only existing fudado(temple hall) in Chichibu.
The fudado is where pilgrims used to nail wooden votive tablets to the pillars of the temple. The marks of the nails can still be seen on the pillars.
On April 10, around the time of the Kompira-sama festival, the weeping cherry trees at the temple gate are in full bloom and make a beautiful sight.
