About Chichibu Fudasho Pilgrimage

Chichibu Fudasho is located in Chichibu City, Yokose Town, Minano Town, and Ogano Town in Saitama Prefecture. The Chichibu fudosho is said to have been founded on March 18, 1234, and the Chichibu fudosho ranking list (Chichibu Fudosho Banzuke) in 1488 actually exists, suggesting that the Chichibu fudosho was established in the late Muromachi period (1333-1573). In the Edo period (1603-1867), the Chichibu Fudasho became a sacred place for pilgrimages by many common people in Edo (Tokyo). Today, the pilgrimage route is about 100 km long, passing through quiet mountain villages and beautiful nature while still retaining the atmosphere of those days.

Introduction to the Chichibu Area

The Chichibu area is located in the western part of Saitama Prefecture and is surrounded by the Chichibu Mountains, offering a rich natural environment.
