This is a special ride on Chichibu Railway's SL Paleo Express to experience the charm of Chichibu and the Chichibu Night Festival.
You will experience riding in the SL driver's cab at Mibuguchi Station, the last stop on the Chichibu Railway line.
A demonstration of Chichibu yatai-bayashi (festival music) and a special lunch box are included.
Event Summary
Chichibu has more than 300 festivals held annually, including the [Chichibu Night Festival] (December 2 and 3, 2024), which has been registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
In recent years, the [Chichibu Whiskey Festival] (February 16, 2025), which focuses on the Japanese whiskey Ichiro's Malt, has been attracting attention and attracting many tourists from around the world to the Chichibu area.
Since these two festivals have one thing in common in that they are both held in winter around Chichibu Shrine, we decided to hold the first “CHICHIBU WINTER FEST” one month before the respective festivals are held.

Chichibu Night Street Colorful Walk

Visitors will tour the Chichibu Omotesando area and its fuda-sho (temple fountain), which are decorated with illuminations. In the festival food stall village and the town bar project in cooperation with local restaurants, you can enjoy Chichibu's local delicacies and alcoholic beverages.
